The Central European House of
Photography is the unofficial name
of the FOTOFO foundation, the first
and most important institution that
began to pursue and develop an
independent photographic culture in
Slovakia after November 1989. For 27
years, the institution organizes the
Month of photography festival in
Bratislava. Since 2005, they operate
a building in the city center with
two photographic galleries, library
and a photographic museum. The
book follows the history of the
institution since its inception until
the present day.
